About 6 hours of self-paced online work (PHTA CPO Fusion course), plus one live test day on Zoom or in person that runs about 6 hours, less for a small class. Same PHTA certification as the classroom version without losing two workdays.

As soon as the next day. Right after you enroll, we register you with PHTA and send you everything you need for the course, including the electronic CPO handbook. You then need about 6 hours to complete the self-paced course before your test day, and finishing it is required to sit the exam. Your course access stays active for 6 months, so booking further ahead is never a problem. Your certificate is issued the same day you pass.

50 multiple-choice questions, 3-hour limit, 37 correct answers to pass. Proctored live by Samuel on the in-person or Zoom test day.

Your tuition includes three exam attempts: your first exam plus up to two retakes within six months of your original exam date (PHTA rule effective September 2025). Samuel proctors the retakes and CPO PRO covers the PHTA retake fee, so there is nothing extra to pay. Just book any future test day.

Five years from the date you pass the exam, and Samuel issues the certificate from the PHTA instructor portal that same day. You will receive reminders well before renewal.

Yes, we offer on-site training nationally and to English-speaking facilities internationally. The minimum is 10 students, $395 per student plus travel, and larger groups can ask about bulk pricing. Contact Samuel directly at sam@cpopro.com to set a date and get a quote before purchasing.

Yes. Samuel is a PHTA Certified CPO Instructor, and the credential you receive is the official PHTA Certified Pool & Spa Operator® certification recognized by health departments and commercial facilities industry-wide.

In most states, yes. You can join from anywhere, and the CPO certification itself is recognized nationwide. A few health departments want the training done in person, though: Delaware, Iowa and Wyoming, plus Pima and Cochise counties in Arizona, Baldwin County in Alabama, St. Charles County and Kansas City in Missouri, and Arlington County in Virginia. Checkout asks where you live or work and won't sell a virtual seat in those areas. If you're in one of them, call Samuel about an on-site class.

Tuition is non-refundable once paid, the moment you enroll, we purchase your PHTA course code and handbook, which cannot be recovered. That said, we work with you: Reschedule free with 7+ days notice (or $50 fee inside 7 days); Transfer your seat to another student from the same organization with 48+ hours notice at no cost; Retakes up to 2 within 6 months, included in your tuition with no retake fees; If we cancel you receive a full refund or priority rescheduling.
